To create a spectacular atmosphere the architect used an expressive range of colors, various
techniques and materials. When developing a design project for the Italian restaurant a team of
QVADRAT studio was inspired by the idea of a Venice Carnival. Following the project 2 rooms
were placed: a banquet hall and a common hall. In the common hall there were a bar, a projector
with a retractable screen and sound system with microphones for entertainers. Niches were
incorporated into the end walls to enlarge basement window openings. They were decorated with
theatre characters pictures of Italian comedies, applied to stained glass. Structural decorative wall
painting reflected costume design of participants of the Venetian carnival. The doors were custom-
made and painted by the studio designers, metal installations were also made to the architect’s
sketches. Plaster elements in the bar and two halls such as surreal cornices and broken columns
looked like distinguishing art features.
