«Comfortable minimalism»
The interior of the apartment. Design project.

The apartment in the old house in the center of Moscow was really depressive before the
reconstruction. Here nobody ever made a design project. Following the architect’s advice a young
family looked through some interior magazines to choose their favorite style. They decided on
minimalism. The apartment design was implemented in line with a family way of living. A
countertop was placed on the window sill of a kitchen to create a comfortable, dining area. The bath
was combined with a WC to make one space bathroom, the doors of the living room and the
bedroom were changed for sliding type. As a result, this drastically expanded the apartment space
and added more comfort. Our project conception consisted on organic relation between aesthetics
and functionalism. Therefore, the main problem was to project storage zones in the apartment. To
resolve it, we made up furniture items to our sketches to incorporate them into interior. And we
supplied Italian companies furniture, because Italy is considered to be a world leader for high
quality furnishing and interior products.
