«Reality and Images» The interior of the apartment. Design project. Fusion. Area 82 sq.m. 2015, Moscow, Lomonosov Avenue.
A customer of the reconstruction of a 3-room apartment in a standard panel house is a young man who does not accept space limits. The owner’s preferences and a type of his job defined focal décor points such as uncluttered open space and much natural lighting and air. Hi-tech, minimalism, classic realism were selected to implement airy and spacious interior design ideas into a project. One of them was to combine a WC with a bathroom and a bedroom with a balcony. The new bathroom was separated from the corridor by a tinted glass partition. The bedroom was enlarged due to the demolition of the window sill block; a folding glass door with tinted windows was built in. No other work was done in the remaining rooms, so most emphasis were placed on furniture and décor elements selection. As a result the apartment interior was beautifully enhanced thanks to contrasting materials such as glass and metal to reflect surfaces and soft painting on textile, leather and wall drawings to smooth them.
