«Loft style cottage»
Reconstruction of a country house. Project.

A family decided to reconstruct their old cottage, that was built without any architectural and
interior project in the 90s of the last century. The main idea of the project was to add a living room
with a terrace to the ground floor walls and to enlarge the first floor living space using all perimeter
expansion of the ground floor. To implement these works we had to change layout of rooms and
make up a new interior design. Walls and concrete could not sustain additional load. So architects
took a decision to inset metal columns around a house that could hold the first floor, a roof and
polycarbonate canopies. Attic windows “Velux” were incorporated into the roof made of soft tiles
and led to façade glazing. A mezzanine in the main bedroom of the first floor beautifully
complemented to interior design and enhanced a house beauty. The two-level bedroom
complemented beautifully décor with perfection and comfort. Shutters on the windows added
glamour and comfort to the façade of a house and made him looking a real country side loft.
